Venue Details
An alley of ancient live oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss. Magnificent gardens, dotted with lovely flowers, elegant fountains and gorgeous statues. A grand mansion that feels like a beloved home – not at all like a museum as some mansions do. This is Houmas House Mansion and Gardens. This is your dream come true.
At one time you had to be the son or daughter of a sugar baron to have a wedding like this. Now all you need is a taste for elegance and romance. From the simple to the lavish, Houmas House’s wedding planners and event staff have what it takes to make your estate wedding everything you’ve always hoped it could be.
Houmas House Mansion and Gardens isn’t just one venue – it’s several. Picture having your wedding on the Great Lawn in front of the Mansion under the Cathedral of Oaks. You can say your “I dos” in the Upper Garçonnière Chapel (apparently women are allowed nowadays). Or you can recite your vows at DragonFly Point which will make you feel like you stepped into a Monet painting.
Houmas House gives you several spectacular options for your reception as well. The Hampton Court Fountain features a spectacular circular water-lily pond with a multi-color fountain. The water shoots up 50 feet into the air and will dance for your guests.
The Pavilion is a T-shaped, climate-controlled space with breathtaking views of the Gardens and Fountain. The 550 year-old Live Oak Tree on the Lawn in front can be your “something old.”
Or there’s the Croquet Lawn where you’ll be surrounded by grand old oaks, the Wysteria Arbor and the Upriver Garçonnière. Part of the Bridal Garden, this whole area is planted in white flowers.
